A first-date outfit for a café and a walk
Dress for the date you have actually arranged. For a café followed by a walk, the outfit needs to work seated and outdoors. Start with a piece you reach for voluntarily, then add one detail that feels special enough for the occasion.

Choose something you can forget about wearing
A comfortable shirt with a skirt or trousers is enough for many cafés. If you wear a skirt, check how the hem sits in a low chair and how easily you can take a long step. If you prefer trousers, choose a waistband that feels comfortable after sitting for a while. Let one favorite color, print or piece of jewelry provide the detail, and use shoes you would also wear for a walk with a friend.
Prepare for the second half of the plan
Take a light layer if you will leave after dark or sit outside. Choose a bag that can hold it without taking up the whole table. If the walk turns out to be longer, your outfit should still be comfortable; avoid making the shoes the most experimental part of the look.
Try the café test
Sit on a low seat, reach across a table and then walk around the room. If you catch yourself adjusting a strap, hem or neckline repeatedly, swap that one piece. A familiar base makes it easier to keep the personal detail you like.
